Professional

After graduating from the University of Florida in 1996, I have been teaching fourth and fifth grade in Manatee County. From Tara Elementary to Kinnan, with a one year stint at Anna Maria Elementary and six years at Braden River Elementary, I now find myself at Barbara A. Harvey Elementary. Each of these experiences has given me a solid understanding of what it takes to help kids become their ultimate self. In our class, all kids set goals and achieve big things. My job revolves around supporting kids as they make their own path and make their own decisions.

With that philosophy, I also think school should be an engaging and dynamic place for kids to explore knowledge and skills. This allows our class to succeed and fail without the stigma of humiliation. So, we work to understand eachother as human beings and attach our hearts to each other. When you truly know a person and feel a part of something, everyone is able to achieve their full potential.

Personal

I love to play anything outdoors. I coach, I play and I owe everything I am to soccer. From a very early age, I loved the game. My mom had a hand in the creation of the first competitive soccer club in Bradenton (Manatee Magic). Of course, I was on that team, however, I was terrible. Because of this "terrible-ness," I learned how to work hard. I instill the same hardworking mentality in the players I coach at Braden River Soccer Club where I serve as the Junior Academy Director

Beyond soccer, I love to read. I am an avid reader of anything, especially books for middle readers (9-11) and am passionate about evangelizing them.

When I am not reading or coaching, you can find me outdoors. I would never call myself an accomplished photographer, but I do love to take pictures. On this site, all of the pictures were taken myself.
